DAILY 5Ã5 PRIORITY: STRETCH AND BALANCE
This week, along with Bounce and Shake movements, youâll start your practice of wake-up Stretch and pre-bed Balance. Every day, after waking up and a quick trip to the bathroom, you will get on the floor with a mat, or on a carpet or rug, and do a series of five yoga poses that will ignite the pilot light of your day. They say, âIâm here, Iâm alive, and Iâm ready to roll!â Youâll close the day with more yoga, doing poses on one foot at a time to center your mind and improve coordination.
⢠Stretch. At 7:00 a.m., do one minute of Childâs Pose, one minute of Cat-Cows, one minute of Sphinx, one minute of Dragonfly, and one minute of Cannonball. These five poses will become your daily morning flow.
⢠Shake. At 11:30 a.m., do one minute each of Neck Looseners, Arm Circles, Leg Swings, Crescent Bends, and Trunk Twists, with a few seconds of rest in between.
⢠Bounce. At 3:00 p.m., do two minutes of Ice Skater Jumps. Rest for one minute. Do two minutes of Burpees.
⢠Balance. At 10:55 p.m., make like a Tree for five minutes, switching feet every thirty seconds. If you lose your balance, no big deal! Just try again.
